Fantastic Me

I'm a 35 year old from the UK working in the finance industry by day. By evening (and weekend) I look after my two wonderful (but energetic) children. By night I write.

In my teens and early twenties, my main outpouring for creativity was through music. Both performing (playing guitar and singing) and writing songs for the various bands I was in. I stopped playing gigs when work-life began to take over in my mid-twenties. At the same time, I found I needed an outlet for my creativity and found writing.

My first book was a humorous science fiction book about an archaeologist who gets drunk and wakes up 1,000 years in the future. It was only recently that someone pointed out the similarities to Futurama, which really hadn't twigged at the time,

I then moved on to writing my second book: a middle grade fantasy about shape-shifting dragons who live among us. The lead character is an eleven year old girl called Alex Frost, who happens to be one of the ship-shifting dragons. I am currently working on getting this novel represented and published.

I have a number of works in progress that I am flitting between, trying to find a strong muse to push me forward. All of them intriguing to me and will hopefully bear some promising fruit in the near future.

I actively work as critique partner to a number of other authors and am always looking for other writers to share the workload with. If you want to swap chapters, feel free to get in touch!

Outside of writing, I enjoy playing my guitar(s), cycling, surfing and reading (of course!).

Thanks for reading my blog.
